The planning application for a new Lidl supermarket have been given the go-ahead potentially creating 40 jobs. The new 2,476sqm will be be sited off Rookery Avenue, alongside a 122-space car park, with work expected to be completed in early 2019.
The new specification store is larger than the older generation stores. The 0.6-acre store include an in-store bakery, it will be modern and efficient, offering a light spacious and attractive shopping experience for customers. The proposed Lidl site is just under 2.14 acres and is situated in a prominent position fronting Rookery Avenue to the west of Whiteley Way. Lidl have had submitted their planning application to Winchester City Council. The application reference is 17/00164/FUL.
