We are a national charity based at the Solent Business Park. We are in real need for a volunteer (or 2 or 3) to give us some admin help in our Head Office. m27atnight.jpg The M27 motorway that was constructed to the south of Whiteley opened in February 1978. Construction of the Solent business park started in the mid 1980s and the first houses in Whiteley were completed in the late 1980s. Problems exist around the transport infrastructure as the Village has grown. The community has one primary route in and out (via the M27 Junction 9 roundabout), although a controversial secondary route through a residential area is often used by local traffic, as well as commuter traffic travelling to the business park. The construction of further transport links to surrounding major routes is restricted by issues relating to land acquisition.
